The Shireinu Choir of Long Island was created to celebrate Jewish culture through music and song. Our repertoire spans the centuries, from music based on ancient texts to contemporary songs. Over the years we have performed selections in English, Hebrew, Yiddish, Ladino and Italian.

Under the leadership of our conductor, Deborah Tartell, the choir has been invited to perform at the prestigious North American Jewish Choral Festival for the fourth consecutive year. We sang the national anthem at Citifield and aboard the U.S.S. Intrepid.

When the choir was established in 2017, it was with the mission of using our music as a way of giving back to the community. Since then, we have entertained the elderly at assisted care facilities, and we have created events to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr., Day. Our music has been included in events for Yom Ha'atzmaut (Israel Independence Day), and Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day), and we have helped raise money for the Holocaust Memorial & Tolerance Center of Nassau County, Hatzilu Rescue Organization, St. John's Bread & Life, Magen David Adom and Beit Halochem.
